It is the story of Manipur through its fable and dances which inspired Irom Sharmila

When the Indian population is rallying behind Anna Hazare, Ojas, a young dramatist from Pune starts another campaign with her solo play Le Mashale to garner support for Irom Sharmila Chanu, a poet turned social activist in Manipur. Visiting different places across the country Ojas organize supporters for Irom Sharmila, who has been fasting for 11 years against military rule in Manipur.
"By performing the play in 25 stages across the state we are trying to garner support for Irom Sharmila and her fight against the atrocities by armed forces," says Civic Chandran.
It is the real life story of Irom Sharmila's ten year long fasting for protecting her home land from the clutches of armed forces that inspired Ojas to communicate her struggles before the civil society.
"People across India are rallying behind Anna Hazare because corruption is common factor. Meantime, atrocities by armed forces against women and children living in North-East states are not known to the common people," said Civic Chandran.
