Moreh Hospital: A well structured 50-bedded Hospital stands tall a few blocks away from border town Moreh's Wild Life office complex on the way to Canaan Veng and Eastern Shine School. Providing desired service to the public from this imposing curative centre had been hindered to an extent by the non-availability of uninterrupted power-supply.
The citizenry of Moreh and its neighbourhood can now sigh a pleasant relief. This day, a gigantic Solar Power Plant installed at the Sub-District hospital, the first of its kind, had been inaugurated in full media glare and cheered fanfare by Hon'ble Minister, Health and family Welfare, Manipur, Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh in the presence of Shri A. Imocha Singh, Commissioner, (Science & Technology), Govt. of Manipur, Shri H. Deleep Singh, DC/Chandel and Shri N. Ashok Kumar, State Mission Director, State Health Society, Manipur and Civil Society functionaries.

The Meeting Order: Following the official inauguration of the Solar Plant, the dignitaries and invitees were led to sit through an event arranged as a part of the festive occasion at Trade Centre, Moreh. A brief welcome address from the CMO/Chandel was followed by a comprehensive key-note-address delivered by the Director, MANIREDA.
Manireda being the major funding agency in partnership with State Health Society, Manipur, the Director of the former waxed eloquent on the uniqueness and utility of the solar plant. He also justified the cost-escalation of the project considering the benefit in terms of service it is to provide.
Shri N. Ashok Kumar further elaborated as to how the vital need of the Hospital had been addressed by the new installation. He also explained that sicknesses cannot be planned. They are unplanned sector. So Doctors and equipment must get prepared to meet any emergency case.

More Speech: Shri H. Deleep Singh, DC/Chandel, the articulate orator that he always is, laid stress on the absolute necessity of regular power supply in district administration saying, "There is no administration without power-supply". Reminding his audience that Chandel is the only DHQ having no power sub-station of its own, the dynamic DC humbly acknowledged his initiative role in solar ventures in his district to do away with regularly irregular power supply.
The next to speak, Shri A. Imocha Singh, Commisioner, Science & Tech, GOM, said that all the conventional sources of energy will, one day, cease to exist. Then, the non-conventional sources of energy will come into full play. Solar energy is the most productive among the non-conventional energy-sources.
The Chief Guest's Remarks: This is a remarkable day, the Chief Guest, Shri L. Jayantakumar, Hon'ble Minister, Health and FW quipped, visibly enthused by his department's landmark achievement. The Minister visited Moreh town just 15 days before to cross-check that things were in place. He was well aware of the immoral activities of the border area which make innocent players easy and susceptible victims of deadly diseases.
This factor doubles, he insisted, the urgent demand to standardize the facilities made available at Moreh SDH to combat lethal sicknesses on a war footing. The Minister also appealed all the Doctors posted at Moreh to work harder and be more responsible and also requested the general public to support the officials in safe custody of official property. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Nandakishore, i/c CMO, Moreh.
