Satellite town coming up at Indo-Myanmar border
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Dec 5 (NPN):
A satellite town would be developed in Moreh, Manipur’s town at the international border with Myanmar which would become the gateway to Southeast Asian countries, said Manipur deputy chief minister Gaikhangam who laid foundation stone for construction of a multi-storey marketing complex at the border town on Wednesday.
Border trade between India and Myanmar, which is a part of India’s international trade, has great potential to influence economically for the development of North Eastern India and Myanmar, the minister said, recalling that the Indo-Myanmar Border Trade Agreement was signed on January 21, 1994 and border trade through Land Customs Station (LCS), Moreh was opened on April 12, 1995.
