WORKING COMMITTEE RESOLUTIONS
The Working Committee of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) held a meeting on 26th Aug. 2020 at the NPF Central Office Kohima and the following Resolutions were unanimously adopted:
The Meeting after thorough deliberations endorsed the decision of the NPF Legislature Wing to withdraw from the Joint Legislature Forum and further endorsed the boycotting of the one-day session which was convened on 13th Aug. 2020.
Keeping in mind the urgency of honorably resolving the Indo-Naga Political issue, the Working Committee of the NPF appeals to the negotiating parties and the Govt. of India to expedite the political negotiations and bring to a logical conclusion so as to usher in peace and tranquility in the North East Region as well as in the entire Indian sub-continent.
The Working Committee is also of the view that in any political negotiations the parties engaged in the negotiations should have the spirit of mutual understanding. Hence, appeals to parties engage in political negotiations to hammer out all contentious issues in the right spirit and there should be room for concessions.
Reiterating NPF commitment to work and assist in any possible manner on any approach for peaceful solution of the Indo-Naga Political Issue, the Working Committee resolved to continue to put all its effort as facilitators.
Towards this end, the Working Committee resolved to constitute Political Affairs Mission (PAM) comprising of Party officials and Legislature Wing. In this regard, the Meeting further endorsed the President and the Leader of the NPF Legislature Wing to constitute Members to actively carry forward the Party’s endeavour to bridge the gap between the entities.
The Meeting also took stock of the present political situation which is becoming fragile day by day and therefore reiterates the Party’s consistent stand on honourable, acceptable and inclusive solution of the Naga Political issue. The Meeting appeals to all the other groups who are yet to join the peace process to reconsider their stand.
The Meeting also discussed about the upcoming by-elections in Nagaland and Manipur and decided to take steps according to the given situation.
The Meeting also put on record the failure of the Govt. of the day on various fronts which is appalling, particularly the economic condition of the daily wage earners and rural public of the state.
