Applications in prescribed pro forma are invited for filling up of the following faculty positions:
A. Professor : 11 (Posts): (Scale of Pay Rs.16400-450-20900-500-22400/- p.m. plus other allowances):
One each in (1) History - UR, (2) Economics - UR, (3) Political Science - UR, (4) English - OBC, (5) Hindi - UR, (6) Commerce - UR, (7) Geography - SC, (8) Mathematics - OBC, (9) Botany - UR, (10) Zoology - UR, (11) Computer Science and Engineering - UR.

Essential Qualification: An eminent scholar with published work of high quality actively engaged in research, with 10 years of experience in postgraduate teaching, and/or experience in research at the University/National Level institutions, including experience of guiding research at doctoral level in the concerned discipline.
OR
An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge
In exceptional cases, the teachers with 15 years of Undergraduate teaching/research experience could also be considered.

Specialization: All the posts are open.

B. Reader : 11 Posts (Scale of pay Rs.12000-420-18300/- p.m. plus other allowances):
(1) History – 01: UR, (2) Political Science – 02 : UR, (3) English – 01: OBC, (4) Education – 02 : UR, (5) Geography – 01 : SC, (6) Mathematics – 02 : 1 OBC & 1UR, (7) Computer Science and Engineering – 02 : UR)

Essential Qualifications: Good academic record with a doctoral degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

Five years of experience of teaching at College/University and/or research at National level Institutions excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidence by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.

Specialization: For Sl. No. (1) Modern India/North-East India, (2) 1(one) Public Administration and 1(one) open, (3) New Literatures/Linguistics/ELT, (4) Curriculum Development, Educational Administration & Management and Adult and Continuing Education, Guidance and Counseling, (5) Open, (6) Open, (7) Open.

C. Lecturer: 33 posts : (Scale of pay Rs.8000-275-13500/-):
(1) History -1 : UR, (2) Economics - 03 : 2–UR, 1-OBC, (3) Political Science - 01: UR, (4) AITS - 03: 1-UR, 1-SC & 1-OBC, (5) English - 05: 3 UR, 1-OBC, 1-UR, (6) Education- 02: 1-ST, 1-SC, (7) Commerce - 01: OBC, (8) Management - 02: UR, (9) Mathematics - 04: 1-OBC, 1-SC, 2-UR, , (10) Botany – 1: OBC, (11) Zoology – 02 : UR, (12) Mass Communication- 01: OBC, (13) Computer Science and Engineering- 05: 1-SC, 1-ST, 1- UR, 1-OBC, 1-UR.; (14) One each in English and Education for Centre for Distance Education (CDE) – UR.

Essential Qualifications: Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. For the post in English in CDE one must be MA degree in ELT. However, for both the posts in CDE, experience in Distance Education System is essential. (For Mass Communication):

Besides the above, candidates with Master’s degree in Humanities/Social Sciences/Sciences with at least a second class Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate Diploma in Communication/Mass Communication or Journalism from a recognized University/Institute may also apply.

Note 1: NET/SLET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with post-graduate degree. However, the candidates having Ph.D degree in the concerned subject are exempted from NET/SLET for PG level teaching.

Note 2: 5% relaxation from (55% to 50%) shall be given to SC/ST candidates. This relaxation of 5% marks at Master’s level will be applicable to the physically and visually handicapped persons in appointment as Lecturer.

Note 3 : 3 (Three) % vacancies shall be reserved for persons with disabilities of which one percent each shall be reserved for persons suffering from (i) Blindness or low vision, (ii) hearing impairment and (iii) loco motor disability or cerebral palsy in the posts identified for each disability.

No. (1) Open, (2) Econometrics, Public Economics and Financial Economics, (3) Open, (4) Sociology/Linguistics/Social Work, Anthropology (Social/physical), (5) American Literature, Literary Theory, Linguistics/ELT, Indian Writing in English, Indian Literature in Translation, (6) Open, (7) Human Resource Management, (8) Open, (9) Open, (10) Open, (11) Fish & Fisheries/Aquaculture/Fish Biology/Limnology/Aquatic Ecology and Biochemistry/Nutritional Biochemistry/Entomology/Environ. Physiology, (12) Communication Theory & Communication Research/Print Media/New Media (Web Publishing, Animation, Graphics etc./Radio Production or Sound for Media/Advertising and Public Relations, (13) Open (14) Open.
