RK (O) Memmi Thiyam, w/o RK Sunil of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai has won the 1st runner up and 'Best Catwalk' title at the IAWA Mrs India 2021 .

Speaking at the crowning ceremony held at Classic Hotel at North AOC, Dr Bhomechand Khaba, MD BK Event and Entertainment Managing and Country Head IAWA India, said the IAWA Mrs India 2021 pageant was held as a virtual event on January 10 and the crown reached the State yesterday.

He added that each year participants from Manipur have always won a title or two at the competition and this year too RK Memmi, who was the only participant from Manipur, bagged the 1st runner up title as well as the title for the 'Best Catwalk' .

Dr Bhomechand added that as the objective of this particular beauty pageant is to spread awareness about domestic violence, breast cancer, child abuse, gender inequalities etc, the winners of title of IAWA Mrs India are not just models but they are also a role model in the society.

Speaking at the crowning ceremony, RK Memmi said she was elated on winning the titles. She also expressed desire for the State Government to felicitate and provide some recognition to people who have represented the State in such beauty pageants and brought laurel to the State.

RK Memmi had also bagged the title of 1st runner up at Winter Queen Contest, 2002; 1st runner up at Miss Kut, 2003 and Miss Manipur title, 2003 .
