R-Day celebrated peacefully in Manipur

The 67th Republic Day celebrations passed off peacefully in Manipur in the wake of a boycott call by militant outfits as Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh urged people to work together for development.
The chief minister was addressing the public at the 67th Republic Day celebration held at 1st Manipur Rifles parade ground here after taking salute from contingents of security forces and Manipur police.
The Governor V Shanmuganathan in his message for the R-Day said that Manipur had been making progress towards development in several fields during the past few years and added that Act East policy of the Centre would bring more advancement in Manipur.
