- Tata Institute Of Social Sciences -
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. The first school of social work in India,
the Institute was a pioneering effort, characteristic of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. The Institute subsequently influenced the direction of social work education
and social research in India.
M.PHIL. AND PH.D. PROGRAMMES
The TISS offers the following pre-doctoral and doctoral programmes:
- M.Phil./Ph.D. in Habitat Studies,
- M.Phil./Ph.D. in Health Systems Studies,
- M.Phil./Ph.D. in Management and Labour Studies,
- M.Phil./Ph.D. in Rural Development,
- M.Phil./Ph.D. in Social Sciences, and
- M.Phil./Ph.D. in Social Work.
