Project Coordinator Role Profile
Overview: MaolKeki Foundation, a Manipur-based Trust founded in 2017 has trained over 1,000 smallholder farmers, provided access to basic healthcare to ~2,000 farmers and their families, and supported the establishment of a soil laboratory as well as a farm fresh vegetables delivery business.
Syngenta Foundation India and MaolKeki Foundation have partnered to implement an Agri Entrepreneurs’ Program in Manipur. The main objective of this Program is to select and nurture around 10 agribusinesses in various areas that will support the development of agriculture in Manipur.
For implementing the Program, the partnership is looking for a Project Coordinator with the below-mentioned desirables.
Location: Imphal area, role scope will cover all project areas in Manipur
Contract and Compensation: Contract will be initially for one year and extended based on performance. Competitive salary. Travel and other expenses will be reimbursed as per policy.
Description of role:
1) The Project Coordinator has to work with Agripreneurs to help build their businesses
2) The Project Coordinator must support the selected Agripreneurs to train farmers, both in the classroom and in the field
3) The Project Coordinator has to attend various extension activities
4) She/ He has to coordinate with State Government officers for various activities
5) She/ He has to coordinate with banks and financial institutions for linking both farmers and agripreneurs for their credit needs
6) The Project Coordinator is also responsible for managing the junior staff of MKF on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the project objectives are being met, and must take the primary responsibility for regularly updating the project stakeholders
Eligibility:
1) Knowledge in Agriculture or Agribusiness
2) Graduate or Post-Graduate, MBA preferred
3) She/ He should be willing to travel to cover the project areas, engage with the agripreneurs, smallholder farmers, and stakeholders
4) The person must be self-motivated and willing to work in a developing, unstructured, environment with a problem-solving attitude
5) Strong relationship and communication skills
6) This project demands fluency in Manipuri, Hindi and English with other local languages is a plus
7) Basic Computer skills, especially in the use of Excel, is a must
