People of Nagaland will not embrace ‘undignified peace accord’ : GPRN/NSCN on peace accord
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Aug 21 (NPN)
Against the backdrop of the Naga Peace Accord signed between the government of India and the NSCN (I-M) on August 3, 2015, GPRN/NSCN led by chairman ‘Gen (retd) Khole Konyak and general secretary N. Kitovi Zhimomi, asserted, that people of Nagaland will not embrace, the “undignified peace Accord”.
MIP the GPRN/NSCN pointed out that first, Nagas of Nagaland, be it land or people, “cannot be sacrificed to fulfil the political aspiration and desire of Nagas” from other neighbouring states. Secondly, GPRN/NSCN said it would not accept “imposition” of NSCN(I-M) peace deal in Nagaland because the political future of tribes of Nagaland was best understood and to be decided by them alone.
On what was described as “historic” peace accord, GPRN/NSCN said Nagaland government was “forced to smile and applaud along the dark alley; while Naga Hoho had long “sold its soul to the devil, with each member expecting a ticket to Heaven”.
