Paresh link between China and NE ultras
Assam Tribune | R Dutta Choudhury | Guwahati, Dec 28
Leader of the hardline faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), Paresh Baruah, has turning out to be the bridge between China and the militant groups of the North East region as he has been maintaining his links in China for a long time.
Highly placed security sources told The Assam Tribune that Baruah has been maintaining close links in China for a long time and he even visits that country frequently. Sources said that according to information available, Baruah, who spends most of his time in Ruili in Myanmar-China border, frequently sneaks into China to make phone calls and to access internet as some of his calls were traced back to China in recent times.
Security sources said that Baruah has been talking to a lady , who spoke English with a “Chinese accent” frequently in the last few weeks. However, sources admitted that Baruah is not maintaining link with any senior Chinese official and it is believed that he has contacts with a few middle level officers of the Chinese Army.
