Nungshi and Tashi : Twin Sisters In Limca Record Book
13 March 2014
Uttarakhand’s famed twin mountaineers, Nungshi and Tashi have entered the Limca Book of records.
The prestigious record book entered two records against the twin sisters: A world record for being the first twin sisters to scale Mt Everest and a national record for being the first twin sisters to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. They were special invitees at the recent launch of the 25th edition of Limca book of records, focusing on empowering women, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi to mark the women’s International Day.
In the mean time, they have already achieved two more world records for being first twin sisters to scale Europe’s highest peak (Mt Elbrus) and South America’s highest peak (Mt Aconcagua)
The twins were especially delighted as this happened on the eve of their departure for their 5th summit attempt (Mt Carstensz Pyramid, in Papua, Indonesia).
The brave twins are on #mission2for7 to become world’s first twin sisters to step on top of the tallest peaks in each continent.
If successful, Nungshi and Tashi will set seven world records in mountaineering at a young age of 23 years!
Their activities can be tracked at www.nungshitashi.com

PS: I had commanded 22 Assam Rifles in Maram from 2005 to 2008.
And my twin daughters nungshi & tashi studied at Maram govt school & Don Bosco high school Maram.
Now they are making the nation & our women proud by the Everest feat and several others under #mission2for7 (to be world's 1st twin sisters to scale highest peaks in all continents) please see http://www.nungshitashi.com/ and FB page
Equally significantly, Nungshi being Manipuri word, has become 'globally known word' and Guiness record books will soon include the Everest record in their next publication
