Northeast history lost in mainland

'53 years of Indian republic and not a single chapter of the history from Northeast is included in the mainstream school textbooks', Binalakshmi Nepram, of Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network
The racial discrimination that people from NE face on the streets of India is because the history of the NE people has never been in the discourse of the Indian education system. “We have so many prominent citizens, eminent historians, yet our history is missing — what has gone wrong,” she asked even as she opened the conference welcoming Professor Basudev Chatterjee, chairman ICHR, Prof Gangmumei Kamei, eminent Manipur historian, RK Anand, Manipur M LA and several other prominent personalities.
