No proposals by Rio to Government of India : Home minister
Nagaland Post | Kohima, Sep 13 (NPN)
Reacting to media reports, state Home minister Imkong L. Imchen clarified that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had not made any proposal to the Government of India related with solution to the Naga political issue excepting a “sacrificial offer” of stepping down.
Imchen reminded that the Nagaland legislative assembly at a special one-day session, deliberated on the “Indo-Naga” issue and unanimously passed a resolution to step down so as to pave way for any alternative arrangement in order to facilitate a solution between the government of India with the NSCN (I-M).
It may be mentioned that a section of the national media reported that the 60 legislators from Nagaland led by Rio who met central leaders had offered to “step down” for an ‘Interim government’ to be formed by NSCN (I-M) and civil societies.
