New policy to attract tourists to NE State

At a ‘Workshop on Making of North-East Tourism Ready’, organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Ministry DoNER, speakers observed that the key issues which are holding back the northeastern region are infrastructure, such as connectivity, branded hotels and skilled manpower in the region. To address these issues it is necessary to develop a strategic approach, said CII chairman NK Bharali.
The workshop was organised as part of the endeavour to get stakeholders to come together to firm up a short-term actionable agenda to promote North-east as a potential tourism hub and explore ways to generate greater awareness of the region. The focus was on concentrating on infrastructure, skill development and destination promotion
