Naga People's Front rues factional clashes
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Dec 30 (NPN)
Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed dismay at the “unfortunate” factional clashes between “recently split NSCN groups”. NPF press bureau release Friday stated that disregarding “hard earned achievements” and “ignoring the yearning of the people for a peaceful atmosphere”, the clashes have taken place between groups. It added that the clashes were “in total contravention to the commitment for reconciliation and unity”.
While taking note of the current tension, NPF opined that at this juncture, the “onus” was on every “responsible individual or group” and to seriously examine the situation besides engaging thoughts in the most “methodical and logical sequence”.
The party stated that 2011 has virtually come to an end with “much to appreciate” and also to ponder over issues which called for “serious concern”. While emphasizing the role of DAN government in playing an “active role of facilitator” for paving a way to a “permanent” solution to “Indo-Naga Peace process”, NPF stated that Nagas as a whole, under the collective efforts of religious bodies, NGOs, civil societies including “underground groups” were united under the aegis of Forum for Naga Reconciliation.
