NPF urged Nagaland Government on COVID-19

The Naga People’s Front being the responsible opposition party in the state of Nagaland have time and again expressed its appreciation to the state Government on its effort to curb away and sensitizing the people on COVID-19 so as to protect the precious lives of the Naga people.
However, equally concerned with the pandemic Virus, the NPF party took an extensive survey throughout all the districts so that Nagaland is not lagging behind any other states to handle the situation. The party took an extra mile in assuring its support to the PDA Government in tackling Covid-19 as it is a common concern for all of us.
However, the party noted with all seriousness the reply given by the Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland saying the state Government is prepared for any eventuality. The party is not convinced as his reply on many of the questions raised by the NPF remains unanswered.
To substantiate further, the party has entrusted all its Divisional president to find out the details of preparedness in each district headquarter and sub-divisional headquarters. And the following are the report gathered from the NPF sources.
1. Whether there is proper COVID-19 testing centres in the jurisdiction? Tuensang-No, Noklak-No, Dimapur-No, Phek-No, Mon-No, Tseminyu-No, Peren-No, Wokha-No, Longleng-No, Mokokchung-No.
2. Whether there are testing kits, thermal scanners, masks, gloves, hand sanitizers are being made available in your districts? Tuensang-No testing kits, one thermal scanner and demanded for 10 more scanners but no response, Masks, gloves and hand sanitizers are less. Noklak-No testing kits, the above items were managed by the doctors, Dimapur-None is available, Phek-None is available, Mon-Available only for hospital staff, Tseminyu-None is available, Peren-None is available, Wokha-one Thermal scanner, shortage of other items, Longleng- None is available, Mokokchung-Not sufficient.
3. Whether protection equipments are supplied to Doctors and Nurses and those people working in the frontline? Tuensang-14 items available and require more, Noklak-Nothing received, Dimapur-None is available, Phek-nothing received, Mon- 19 items available and require more, Tseminyu- nothing received, Peren-No proper equipment's are supplied, Wokha- nothing received, Longleng- nothing received, Mokokchung-Not sufficient.
4. Whether there are ICU facilities available in the district hospitals? Tuensang-No ICU facility, Noklak- No ICU facility, Dimapur- No ICU facility, Phek- No ICU facility, Mon- No ICU facility, Tseminyu- No ICU facility, Peren- No ICU facility, Wokha- No ICU facility, Longleng- No ICU facility, Mokokchung-No ICU facility.
5. Whether 24/7 control rooms are set up in the district hospitals? Tuensang-Yes, Noklak-Yes, Dimapur-Yes, Phek-Not available, Mon-Yes, Tseminyu-Not available, Peren-Not available, Wokha-Yes, Longleng-Not available, Mokokchung-Yes.
Taking all these into account, the NPF urged the Government of the day to immediately act into action and make available all the necessary equipments in all the district headquarters and sub-divisions so that none of our people including our doctors and nurses is affected due to lack of all these equipment's, as it is well known that ‘No soldier can face war without weapons and ammunitions’.
