"NPF party has decided to support Congress candidature on issue based"

The Naga People’s Front President, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on Wednesday made a clarion call to the Naga people to vote for the future of the Naga people by maintaining that we should not regret for voting against the wishes of our future generation.
Speaking at the consultative meeting of the NPF Kohima Division at Central office on Wednesday, the President said that the NPF which represents the identity of the Naga people has tie knot with the congress candidate, KL Chishi for the coming Lok Sabha poll as one-time affair so that together with the secular forces will defeat the NDPP led BJP consensus candidate.
“Inorder to defeat the BJP alliance NDPP candidate, the NPF party has decided to support the Congress candidature on issue based”, Dr. Shürhozelie said asserting that due to the issue that is threatening the Naga people, the NPF took decision not to field its candidature and divide the secular votes and give advantages to the NDPP candidate. Therefore, the NPF has taken this bold stand strongly and fight against the
forces which is trying to penetrate into our land and destroy our people, he added.
Many Nagas particularly the Naga regionalists may question as to how to vote for the Congress, the President explained that due to the issue that is eminently danger posing before the Naga people and the Northeastern region in the like of BJP’s invention Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), the NPF has joined hands with the Congress to defend our future generation.
While appreciating the NPF Rajya Sabha Member, KG Kenye for going against the CAB tooth and nail, the party President lambasted the NDPP Lok Sabha Member, Tokheho for going infavour of the CAB and stated that the present PDA Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has clearly told in the National screen that his Government will not oppose the CAB. However, on seeing the Northeastern region and the state burning with the CAB issue, the PDA cabinet hurriedly decided to oppose the bill.
The President also mentioned that, the BJP Supremo, Amit Shah in his public address at Guwahati recently that if BJP is brought back to power, the CAB will bring about at the earliest.
Therefore, Dr. Shürhozelie warned the people if the CAB is introduced as an Act, no one can escape from the reality of being crushed over by several lakhs of outside forces against the indigenous local people within no time and we will become the minority in our own land, he added.
Further, Dr. Shürhozelie also said that we may not give a serious thought about the consequences of the CAB but once it is applicable, then the CAB will not differentiate us by colours, parties or status but it will come as a thunder and lightning and destroy all of us together.
Clarifying the 15 years NPF/BJP alliance, the President said that the BJP was with the NPF and the BJP have never dictated or tyrannize the NPF but going smoothly for the upliftment of the people. However, the BJP after coming to power at the Centre slowly intruding into our people’s freedom and when they cannot bargain with the NPF party, the BJP has settled down with the NDPP and ruling the state now.
Referring to the 7 NPF MLAs rebels, the President cautioned that they cannot escape from the law and maintaining that unless they return back to the party fold in a stipulated time, the disciplinary action against them will be initiated and for which it will cost them greatly and to their career.
Also speaking on the occasion, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro categorically stated that the NPF joining with Congress may be a blessing in disguise to let the secular forces come together and fight for the future of the Naga people. He said the priority of the Naga people should be voting for the secular parties and defend the future of the Naga people.
The MLA also cautioned that at present many fake leaders were leading the Naga people, therefore, it is high time the Naga people should realize before it is too late and strive together and stay unitedly with the true leaders.
Another speaker, ex-MLA Kropol Vitsu has lambasted the recent statement of the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio who in his statement claimed that the BJP is more secular than the Congress has stated that how far the Chief Minister can fool the Naga people, having more alliance with other political parties can never be termed as a secular party. The ex MLA also cautioned voting for the BJP sponsored NDPP candidate is like voting infovour of the CAB, therefore, if we vote in favour of the CAB, a day will come when our generation will curse us.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Vice President Central, Kruzakie Kelio, welcome address was delivered by Kohima Division President, Gonei-u Sirie while invocation prayer was said by Neivizolie Chilie and vote of thanks was pronounced by Kohima Division Working President, Kelhouletuo Keretsü.
