Reply to press statement issued by NDPP :: NPF
Kohima, 6th July 2020
The attention of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) is drawn on the long and lengthy press statement issued by the NDPP which appeared in the local dailies dated 6th July 2020.
The NPF found it pointless and do not intend to give para-wise reply to what the NDPP have written because it will be only a wastage of time for any readers alike since there is hardly any points to be rebutted.
However, to make the record straight, the following points need to be stated for public consumption:
1. The question of NPF making an attempt to mar the cordial relationship between the present PDA Govt. and the hon’ble Governor does not arise, it is already a forgone conclusion that the hon’ble Governor does not trust the present government as there is no semblance of governance. Not only the hon’ble Governor but even the general public have no hope and confidence whatsoever on this PDA government.
2. In their reply to the hon’ble Governor, the PDA Govt. has repeatedly talk about the 3rd August 2015 Framework Agreement and conclusion of the political talk on 31st Oct. 2019. This very statement was again pick up by the NDPP in their statement wherein they claim themselves to be the champion of these two important events on the Naga political issue.
What contribution did the present Govt. made or for that matter the NDPP party too on these two important political events? Since human memory is short, it is necessary to put the record straight; the Framework Agreement of 3rd August 2015 was signed during the time of NPF-led-DAN Govt. and furthermore, the NPF delegation comprising of NPF Legislature Wing and the Party leaders led by the Leader of the NPF Legislature Wing Mr. TR Zeliang camped at New Delhi for almost two weeks and closely kept in touch with the NSCN (IM) and the NNPGS during the last round of negotiations which was successfully concluded on 31st Oct. 2019.
Therefore, it is rather amusing how this PDA Govt. and the NDPP is attempting to take shelter on these two significant political events without an iota of contribution from their end.
3. The PDA Govt. has also mentioned about the present pandemic in their reply to the hon’ble Governor saying thousands of returnees are being provided all facilities of health care, food and accommodations.
Isn’t it hilarious to claim that the returnees are provided with good care when there are thousands of complaints from almost all the quarantine centres? After mishandling the Tuensang returnees, the govt. dismantle the state co-ordination committee on COVID-19 headed by Chief Secretary and it was reconstituted with CM and Dy. CM as convenor and co-convenor respectively but situation has only become worsen and the way the Government handle the Jalukie episode is a total failure and inefficiency to tackle the present pandemic.
4. Since the PDA Govt. has failed on all front including law and order, this Govt. has no moral right to continue in the office even for a day and therefore they must resigned on moral ground.
