NNC outcry over parleys

The Naga National Council (NNC) today said the Naga political issue was a “common property” and not a “monopoly game”. In a statement, the NNC, which was formed in 1946, said recognising the Naga issue as a national problem was a time-tested struggle and that collective wisdom and deliberation was a must at this crucial juncture.
The outfit said the Naga issue could not be overruled by the rhetoric of some people. A concerted wisdom should be sought and the people’s voice heard, it added. “We cannot talk of an honourable solution when we do not honour our own commitment,” the statement said.
