NEC to invite private air operators
Seven Sisters Post | Shillong (Dec 7):
NEC secretary said the council members – chief ministers and governors – of the eight northeastern states, including Sikkim, were not happy at all with the air services of Alliance Air and favoured terminating its services in the region.
Informing that the NEC would float an expression of interest on Saturday to invite airlines companies to operate in the region, Sangma said that most of the private airlines have showed their interest to operate in the region. “If private airlines can operates in the region without subsidy, why can’t Alliance Air also compete with private airlines to run their services in the region,” the NEC secretary said.
