Amid growing demand for justice to Loitam Richard, who was allegedly killed by his hostel mates in the hostel of Acharya NRV School of Architecture in Bangalore, the final report of the doctors who conducted the post mortem almost came like a blow to the hearts of the hundreds and thousands of supporters.
The report was submitted to the Police by the doctors who conducted the post mortem after analysing the autopsy, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and pathology reports and it cited the cause of death as some cardiac disease which Richard might have contracted hereditarily.
Following the report, Superintendent of Bangalore Rural district had categorically observed that the death of Loitam Richard was not a case of murder or culpable homicide. The report further stated that the injuries found on Richard's body could not lead to his death, thus hinting to the cause of the death to his heart ailment.
Nonetheless, the fact that Richard had some altercations with his hostel mates on the night of his death and he was found in a pool of blood in his hostel room by the hostel authorities the next day should not be brushed aside.
The tale tell signs on the battered corpse of Richard suggested the possibility of murdering him by beating him up severely and at the same time a plot to cover the truth behind the death of Richard.
Moreover, the preliminary post mortem had cited the cause of the death as cerebral haemorrhage which goes parallel with the allegations of the friends, families and supporters of Richard.
Now the Bangalore police are pondering over the matter and thinking whether they should convert the case into Unnatural Death Report (UDR) or book a case of culpable homicide not amounting to death which almost stuck in the hearts of the hundreds of thousands of the supporters, who are demanding justice into the matter, like a stake.
People have been expecting that the right justice and logical conclusion of the case from the government's side and waiting for the final forensic report.
However, the direction to which the doctors and the police are taking the case has yet again instilled a sense of doubt over the mind of the people - whether the police and the doctors are carrying out their duties sincerely or not?
At the same time, many are sure that the case will take an unexpected turn and justice will be denied.
Given the situation, the only option before the people of the state is to press the government to handover the case to a neutral investigating agency like CBI and start the investigation all over again to find out the truth and what actually happened on that fateful night.
The agency should interrogate the suspects facing allegations of murdering Richard and find out the truth behind the case.
People of the state should also question why the police are not interrogating the suspects and why they are not discussing transferring of the case to CBI.
Now people are wondering whether the Bangalore police are trying to cover the truth and keep the case as a mystery without solving the case. Will it remain as a mystery forever?
It's upto you. Anyway, let's hope for the best.
