Miffed SC raps Ibobi govt on fake killings
The Telegraph | Imphal, Nov. 6
Widows of alleged fake encounter killings were disappointed by the delay on the part of the Okram Ibobi Singh government to submit its report to the Supreme Court as sought by the apex court. The families urged the state government to co-operate with the court and punish those found guilty in the alleged fake encounter killings.
The Supreme Court on October 1 admitted a petition filed by the Extra-judicial Execution Victim Families’ Association, Manipur, and Human Rights Alert, Imphal, seeking the institution of a special investigation team to probe cases of alleged fake encounter killings in the state.
