Mao Council responds to SAPO
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Jun 2 (NPN)
Publicity Wing of Mao Council has reiterated that Kezoltsa/Koziiri fell within Mao territory which extended upto Mao portion of Dzüko, the valley that was attached to Mount Isii. The publicity wing of Mao Council had issued the statement as response to a statement of the Southern Angmai Public Organistion(SAPO) issued on September 10,2011 at the APO building Kohima.
Stating that Mao people were not trying to communalise the issue, the Council clarified that Information Centre for Hill Areas of Manipur(ICHAM), and organisation of tribals and valleys, voluntarily came together “to understand the position of Maos, after learning of the submission of the Memorandum to the CM of Manipur on Koziiri and Dziiko issue. Mao Council said ICHAM including UCM and AMUCO had supported the demand of the Maos for “peaceful intervention from the government (Manipur)” and not “physical confrontation.”
