Manipur ups the ante for molester's arrest
Seven Sisters Post | Yumnam Rupachandra, Imphal (Dec 28)
The indefinite state wide bandh over alleged molestation of Manipur film actor Momoko that threatened to split Manipur on communal lines have been cut short, but the agitation demanding arrest of accused NSCN (IM) functionary Livingstone Anal continues.
Film forum president L Surjakanta, speaking at the protest site, said, the agitation was aimed at the NSCN (IM) cadre Livingstone Anal and not against any community or religion. The protest turned violent due to the action of the police personnel against the protestors, he said putting the blame squarely on the government’s shoulders. He said the bandh was suspended following the appeal from different organisations because of the upcoming Christmas festival. “However the agitation will continue in different forms till Livingstone is arrested and given the punishment,” he said.
