Manipur organisations demand introduction of ILP
Seven Sisters Post | UNI | Imphal (Sep 10):
The Federation of Regional Indigenous Societies (FREINDS) has urged the government to introduce Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in Manipur. The FREINDS said in a statement that the ILP is required to check influx of illegal immigrants in the state.
Demanding ILP does not mean the organisation wants to send off outsiders. The continuing illegal immigrations has changed the demography of the state as one third of the total population are immigrants.
