Manipur not in favour of changing financial year
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Nov. 3:
Manipur government has expressed reluctance to Centre’s move to change the financial year from April-March to a different sequence of months. Government of India is examining the desirability and feasibility of having a new financial or fiscal year. Presently, the financial year followed by governments in India runs from 1st April to the following 31st March.
An official source Thursday said that Manipur government received a communiqué from the Union finance ministry expressing Centre’s desire to change the presently followed finance year in August this year.
