Manipur lawyers’ stir enters Day 20

With over 2,000 cases unattended in the past 20 days, the impasse of the Guwahati High Court lawyers strike continued even on Thursday with no concrete assurance from the Supreme Court on the demands put up by the Manipur lawyers.
However, feedback from representatives of Manipur High Court Bar Association, currently camping in the New Delhi, indicates the possibility of a positive outcome. Speaking to the media at the empty High Court Complex here in Imphal, senior advocate Khaidem Mani said the Association president N Kumarjit and secretary Rashmi Piba have been meeting several important people in New Delhi to press home their demands.
