Manipur dam-hit seek Parliament attention

Peeved at the manner in which grievances of affected villagers of Mapithel dam has been ignored and reports of large-scale misappropriation of compensation funds in the name of bogus households, the Mapithel Dam Affected Villages Organisation (MDAVO) based in Chadong village, one of the villages to be submerged, has decided to take the matter to the Parliament.
Chairman of MDAVO, RS Sakathan and secretary MDAVO R Leishipem, in a letter to the state unit of the Communist Party of Manipur urged seven non-Congress political parties to bring up the issue at the upcoming winter session of the Parliament.
