Unity to be real must stand the severest strain without breaking.
Mahatma Gandhi
Afterward many unfaithful incidents in Manipur at past, it seems that neither the common people nor the government ever intend to absorb slightly, how to project their meaningful ideas in a harmonized manner. Claims and Counter claims is all to be heard, most of the time we even deny of a peaceful environment in Manipur to exist, all by ourselves. People lost their conviction on the very government they elect and the government similarly forgets the impression that they should function for the common people by whom they got elected.
Here, visibly the circle of good governance and public input get damage, comprehending the structure of proper and feasible governance. In a democratic state like Manipur, where every individual get the right to live with "Fundamental Rights" but unfortunately, from time to time it become irrelevant and very difficult whom to be blamed for inaccessible of a safe and healthy livelihood.
It is relatively justifiable that everybody vents their anger against the ill treatment of the actress by a personal of an anti-social organization and on other side; moreover equally remorseful at the parallel destruction for peace and normal life culture owing to violent forms of protest.
Expressing their peculiar interpretations towards the molestation incident at Chandel on 18th Dec evening and subsequent eruptions of public anger and protest by various organizations resulting to the Government spokesman's response for munificent justice to the victim and prosecuting the culprit has yet again defined the inability of government machinery to be proactive or at least, make a rapid call to subsidies such incident. It also visualizes the gloomy nature of the government to wait for disaster to happen and go for help after loss of lives and properties.
In every man-made tragedy or catastrophe, the situation can be handled initially by employing proper amount of safety forces either before the episode starts to groom up or calculated forces during the span of the event so that it should not spread further, if spread it is termed as a disaster or if control timely, the successful steps for future deterrence towards such unwanted events. It is the role of security division of the government that has to look for such successful deterrence steps.
Enduringly, with so much negativity and hardship among the public as well as lack of good governance altogether fuel every outcry. Whether it should be the inefficiency of the government or the lack of morale by public, the clarification itself is very shadowy. Bandh and Economic blockade on National Highways are becoming recurrent in Manipur consistently that directly affect the society as a whole irrespective of Valley or Hill people, Meitei or non-Meitei, Tribes or non Tribes.
Only subject we should keep in mind is that we as an overall population are the one who bear the hardship of shortage of daily essential items. Then, why there is Bandh and Blockade? Is it the instrument to express our resentment to facilitate the government acknowledgement upon the demands or to project hypocritical power plus aptitude to show that we can do it any time for any reason as desire, regardless of undermining the constitutional mechanisms and public sentiment? Let's learn and acts, nothing of such deeds will ever profit, except more miseries and resentments to whole.
Likewise, instigating with blockade and general strike from public side and responding through curfew from administration will never yield for any solution; besides it will further aggravate the circumstances.
The most significant question enquires normally upon the Government time and again is what steps/precautions are being formulated by the official machinery so that such incidents should by no means occur in future or comparable violent protest won't take place? The responses are freely waited.
For a small state like Manipur, government and public should go hand in hand for better understanding and peace building. Together with this incident, it is always immoral for any clusters to inflame communal feeling among the people of Manipur. Furthermore, it is immoderate to hurt the feeling of oneness and years of living with harmony amongst hill and valley peoples, ever since time immemorial. To sum up, strengthening or extinguishing a society permanently rest upon the very people that live within it.
I do pray for the brave journalist who lost his life while carrying out his duty. Alike, collectively look forward for a better and peaceful Manipur free from any prejudice.
