Manipur's People's Liberation Army accused of training maoist
Economic Times | 8 Oct, 2011, 07.09AM IST, ET, New Delhi:
Two leaders of banned Manipuri insurgent outfit, People's Liberation Army (PLA), accused of training CPI(Maoist) cadre and providing it arms sourced from China, were arrested by the Delhi Police recently.
Police said that the arrest of N Dilip Singh, alias Wamba, a lieutenant in the PLA, and his associate Arun Kumar, who works in the outfit's external affairs wing, has exposed the close collaboration between PLA and Maoists on matters such as training as well as arms procurement.
"After the formation of such a front, their intention was to form a strong united front, which would include the CPI (Maoist), militant organisations of North-East and terror outfits in Kashmir, for it would be effective in challenging the Indian government," he said.
