Shree Lungpuiga Remei was born on February 9, 1932 at Keishamthong Kabui Khul, Imphal West.
He was the son of Phamjai Remei and Kadunchunglu.
He got his BA degree from Guwahati University in 1967.
Lungpuiga Remei learned Kabui Naga dance from renowned teachers like Phamjai Remei, Thambou, Sachuirung, Kokhuphun and K Houreilung Kabui.
He is the life member of Kabui Naga Dance and Drama Centre, Imphal.
Some of his published books are
Chapalam Luh,
Kairong-Lolluh,
Pheigong Luh,
Maja Luh,
Keishamthong Kabui Mei Ngairon and
Luh-tin.
He was awarded Manipur State Kala Academy Award in 2011 for his valuable contribution in the field of tribal culture.
The Manipur University of Culture also presented gifts for his immense contribution.
In recognition of his contribution in the field of dance, Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Imphal awarded him the Nrityabhusan (Kabui Naga Dance) in its 83rd annual conference.
