“An unjust law is itself a species of violence. Arrest for its breach is more so.”
The lost freedom I am talking about is a place where a Million of Rupees Enter Here (Moreh) which I physically experience more then 10 yrs of my living.
Pre 1993 Moreh was like a paradise where we represent a Mini India, which is almost habited by all communities living in India: from Hindu to Sikh, then Jainism to Buddhism, Christian to Muslim.
I never find a place anywhere, that such a small town within the small state would be a variety of living. If I am not wrong, around 15% of the state population depend their livelihood in Moreh directly or indirectly.
The Kondong Lairembi Haraoba is a heart throb of everyone for all Hindu and Non-Hindu too.
The town bring smile to many livings, the town was peace where everyone can visit without any disturbance to any surrounding.
Consequent to the outbreak of the Naga-Kuki communal, there arose a sudden and surprised happening, which I term as “Post 1993 Moreh”. Many well planted and beautiful flora were deforested.
The number of population suddenly increase unexpectedly, as population increase many surprise increase too. Day by day the place become linguistically dominated centre.
Many Jain left the place, the prayer of Gurudwara slowly diminishes in the town, the monks never come to door step. Riots, thief, killing were resulted very soon in the Post 1993 Moreh.
Who has to be blame? No one knows but the consequent is because the population size increase suddenly uprooting the old by planting new breeds which were never the part of the Pre 1993 Moreh.
Slowly but too fast there arose a two bodies which we call “Moreh Meitei Council” and Hill Tribal Council (HTC). Both have the same philosophy but the practice was totally different.
After a gap of many years I visited my place, my paradise and I was told that during night I was not desirable to visit to HTC majority area. The town is demarcated under two wings, which I prefer to term them as “Indian Army Territory” and “Civilian Territory”.
Many illegal outfits were openly visited in the town making civilian unrest in the custody of the Indian powerful military area. Fifteen years back from now whenever I saw army personnel, being a child I salute them but as I grow up its uncomfortable seeing them in the same place where I used to salute them during my childhood.
The recent lost of eleven life of innocent people in the town is the indirect results of paramilitary strategy to curb out the illegal outfit operating in the Post 1993 Moreh.
But we as individual can look into the detail strategy that is being practice by our Jawan. If anyone observed, its sure that something goes wrong with our custody or Jawan.
Why people in the town were against the custody. Perhaps this might be due reason of our jawan unequal judgement in the people within the town.
I would not conclude blaming the army personnel but I am also against the illegal outfit that operate in this Post 1993 Moreh. The excessive introduction of themselves and their immature behaviour with the weapon they used make a public life unsecured.
We can’t bring a stable and peaceful state unless we have a proper talk.
Violence and weapon means of achievement are not the solution to bring normalcy in the town, instead it will led to lost of many lives.
If Christians would really live according to the teachings of Christ, as found in the Bible, all of India would be Christian today. - Christianity -
