Loitam Richard case: NHRC seeks report in 4 weeks
Seven Sisters Post | David Mayum | Imphal (July 3):
With the Karnataka police and their CID wing seem to have made a short shrift in the case related to the mysterious death of Manipur student Richard Loitam, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has stepped in to do justice to the bereaved family members.
Responding to a complaint lodged by Ningthemchamayum Vidyapati Devi (50), mother of Richard Loitam, the NHRC has directed the Karnataka government to submit an action taken report (ATR) to it within four weeks on the alleged murder case of Richard. Vidyapati Devi is an assistant professor of Microbiology at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.
