Light and Shade
- Deep from the Soul -
K. Radhakumar *
Here I am
Putting down roots in this place;
I can feel my corporeal presence
Here in this place.
My mind is free
And not in chains;
My mind walks out of my body
A free man
And lives in a place
Other than this place.
A place
Other than this place!
Maybe life here is
Blood, sweat and tears –
My mind makes friends with a place
Other than this place.
I had a vivid picture
Of a place
Where white revolution was a success
Where people lived in health and happiness
Where green revolution was also a success
Where there was no greenhouse effect,
But it was just a dream.
Yes, I dreamt about the place last night
And I woke to a hot Sunday morning.
I read the daily paper
Over a cup of tea
And thought about the bloodthirsty civilization.
Disturbed I am.
Strangely disturbed.
A beauty
Other than this beauty!
Do I tell the truth?
The truth within a truth!
The truth beyond this truth!
The whole truth!
