Subject: Manipur University Crisis: Visit of a Joint Secretary (JS)- Regarding
Sir,
Warm Greetings from the Manipur University Teachers’ Association (MUTA).
In order to save your valuable time, let me come directly to the point that the Manipur University Teachers’ Association desired me to bring to your kind notice in right earnest.
The University community have come to learn that a Joint Secretary of our Ministry has arrived in Imphal presumably to gather first-hand information relating to the relentless demand for removal
of the present incumbent to the Office of the Vice Chancellor and the call for an enquiry into the administrative and financial irregularities allegedly committed by him.
On learning about this latest development, the MUTA had a telephonic talk with the Registrar-in-Charge of the University for arranging an interaction with the visiting JS. Now the Association has been informed that the JS has no desire for a meeting with the representatives of MUTA. In the meantime, we have learnt that he is leaving Imphal for Delhi today without meeting a core component of the University
Community - University Teachers.
The MUTA would appreciate a line from your end if this is the normal procedure of MHRD while attempting to resolve a crisis in a University.
Sincerely yours,
(Prof Lisam Shanjukumar Singh)
General Secretary
Manipur University Teachers’ Association (MUTA)
Manipur University, Imphal,
Canchipur-795003 (Manipur)
