JLF has no concrete plan to the Naga Political issue : NPF
Kohima, 2nd September 2020
Nevertheless, the Legislature Wing of the Naga People’s Front has withdrawn its membership from the Joint Legislature Forum; the party will work and give its best effort in assisting for an early and acceptable resolution of the Indo-Naga Political issue.
The NPF being a responsible Political Party has played an active facilitator role since the inception of the party for the resolution of the Naga political issue and will continue to work with the same spirit so as to fulfill the aspiration of the Naga people.
The Naga People’s Front reiterated that the party has endorsed the withdrawal of its legislatures from the Joint Legislature Forum as the platform has failed to make any tangible progress towards the cause of the Indo-Naga Political Issue with the ruling PDA Government paid less heed without any proper road map.
With the formation of the JLF, the NPF was expecting that the forum will carry forward the role of an active facilitator on the ongoing peace process. However, the present ruling Government did not have confidence with the NPF legislatures and when there is huge trust deficit in the JLF, the party has no point to remain in the Joint Forum but to work on its own for the betterment of the Naga people.
The party decision to pull out from the JLF maybe a shocking political development for the PDA but the NPF being a responsible party and with the Naga political issue as one of its topmost priority has a genuine reasons to withdraw from the membership and work on its own as the JLF under the present Government has no concrete plan to the Naga Political issue.
It may be mentioned that since the formation of the JLF, the party has eagerly volunteered to be part of the JLF and with the hope to render its best service towards the Naga cause but the Government of the day has miserably failed to dispatch its responsibility and taken the opposition party for a ride.
Even though the NPF has withdrawn from the JLF has asserted that with the formation of Political Affairs Mission (PAM), the party will walk extra mile to assist in any possible manner on any approach for peaceful solution of the Indo-Naga Political Issue.
