Irom Sharmila demands punishment
The Telegraph | Imphal, April 9:
Human rights crusader Irom Sharmila today demanded that all those police and Assam Rifles personnel involved in the six fake encounter killing cases be punished in adherence to the findings of the Supreme Court-appointed commission headed by Justice N. Santosh Hedge.
“Killing of innocent persons is taking place and no guilty personnel was pulled up till today as the culprits are protected by the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act. A commission constituted by the Supreme Court finds fake encounter killings in Manipur. All the culprits involved in the six cases should be punished,” Sharmila said.
