Iralu urges centre, NE govts attention on immigration issue

Noted social worker Niketu Iralu has asked governments of Northeastern states and the centre to have an “honest discussion” on the issue of illegal immigrants with an admission that the issue needs “immediate attention.”
Taking part in DD Northeast’s Trends of Nagaland program Saturday on the topic “Illegal Immigrants-problems, challenges and solution,” Iralu said the discussion should involve the centre, all Northeast state governments, government of Bangladesh and Myanmar as the ethnicity of the tribal in the region was on the verge of being obliterated by the influx of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
