UNRISD is now accepting applications for an internship position in the areas of civil society, business regulation, and the global crisis. Working with the Deputy Director, Peter Utting, the intern will assist with the preparation of three manuscripts dealing with a) global justice activism in Europe, b) the role of non-state actors in business regulation, and c) social and political dimensions of the global crisis.
Qualifications Required
* Candidates are required to have, or be engaged in, a postgraduate degree in sociology, political science, international relations or a related area
* Prior knowledge of the project themes is preferred
* Fluency in English is essential
* Fluency in French and/or Spanish is desirable
Other Skills & Competencies
* Strong editing skills
* Good organizational skills and ability to meet pre-established deadlines
* Ability to work independently when needed
* Adaptable and flexible
* Good working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, EndNote)
Preferred starting date: 20 September 2010
The duration of the assignment is between 2-4 months.
This UNRISD internship is in accordance with the rules and regulations of the UN Internship Programme. Interns are not financially remunerated, and UNRISD is not responsible for interns' travel expenses to and from Geneva, or for medical insurance during the period of the internship.
