Intercepted migrants to be sent back

With the illegal migration from Bangladesh threatening to become a national issue, the Centre last year amended the rules regarding deportation of illegal migrants from Bangladesh intercepted while entering the country.
The fresh procedures now involve immediate sending back of the illegal immigrants, who are intercepted at the border, said Minister of State for Home Affairs, M Ramachandran in reply to a Lok Sabha question.
The revised procedure for detection and deportation of illegal immigrants was communicated to the State Government in November, 2009, which was partially modified in February, 2011, the Minister added.
