Ibobi government's appeal to deport migrants

Ibobi government has urged the Union home ministry to take steps to deport foreign nationals detected during a police drive in Manipur in the past few days. An official source said 100 Bangladeshi and Myanmarese nationals were detected during the drive.
“We have written to the Union home ministry for deportation of the foreigners to their respective states. So far, 81 Bangladeshi and 19 Myanmarese nationals were detected. We are waiting for a response from the home ministry,” an official source said. The foreigners are now lodged at Sajiwa Jail in Imphal.
