ILP demand knocks on Delhi door

Over hundred people representing various Manipur civil society organisations, student bodies and political parties staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to draw Centre’s attention to their demand for reintroduction of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system to protect the indigenous people of Manipur.
Meanwhile, in Imphal, vendors from three main women (Ima) markets on Sunday suspended their work to hold a simultaneous sit-in-protest to demand reintroduction of ILP in Manipur. The women vendors closed down all markets in Paona and Thangal bazaar on the day.
