IFFI will seek more NE involvement : Shankar Mohan
Seven Sisters Post | Rahul Jain | Panaji (Nov 27):
The Northeast has been underrepresented in The International Film Festival of India this year in Goa, currently in its 43rd edition, despite the fact that Baandhon, a film directed by Jahnu Barua, was the opening film of the Indian Panorama section this year.
Talking to Seven Sisters Post, IFFI director Shankar Mohan said that not many films are being made in the Northeast of India these days while among those, a majority are in digital format which make its hard for them to compete in festivals like these. “What I have seen and observed in the recent past is that a lot of films are being made in the digital format. That discourages us from screening them in big festivals,” he said.
