New Delhi 13 February 2007: It doesn’t get any better than this. Creating history among the Zohnathlak community, FTN Band which boasts two Hmar-Mizo boys in its line-up, David Khawbung on lead guitar and Zuala Hrangchal on bass guitar, have won the Campus Rock Idols 2007, India’s largest inter-college rock music competition, the finals of which were held on 11 February 2007 in Pyramid Lawns, Koregaon Park, Pune. Apart from being crowned the best amateur rock band at the campus level in India, FTN will be the opening act at the much-awaited Iron Maiden concert in Bangalore. This is the third consecutive year that this annual competition, which offers the ultimate experience for bands to perform on a professional, technical and evolved production standards, has taken place. Previous winners of the competition, who have gone on to make names for themselves in the Indian rock scene are Prestorika and The Superfuzz, both from Delhi. While Prestorika performed with The Rasmus on their India tour, The Superfuzz also performed with Bryan Adams in 2006.
