Hill Orchid Hotel
Lunminthang Haokip *
A facade of hilly Aizawl, Mizoram
1. A hard-day's drive up steep hill-road,
Charts way to arrive with cramp-load
At Zoram's sweat-built-up boom-town
That decades of prayer wrought as crown;
At Aizawl, pop hill-top city,
If you want a stay hassle-free,
Take a turn from Chandmari-main,
Swerve to down-town Sharon-veng lane;
When a hep hotel your eyes meet,
Check in and chill out in a suit;
At mid-town Hotel Hill Orchid,
An inn tipped to serve all and suit.
2. Now, Aizawl you can reach by flight;
Mod hill-folks love to travel light;
If in haste you left your Bible,
One is kept on your room-table;
That sapped and tired, after you dine,
God's Word you may read and unwind.
3. Morning prayer will day begin best,
Later, hot breakfast is served fresh;
While room-boys mop and shine the floor,
Read Gideon's and of God know more;
That when you move from Hill Orchid,
The truth hid in your heart may lead.
4. At Hill Orchid, all contrasts sink;
Big or small, that's not what we think;
Trust us to care, just give a ring;
Coz to us every guest is a king;
We'll serve and all we want to hear
Is your loud smile from ear to ear?
