"Heavy Discount on Gold & Paddy field". This was news I was told while having after dinner conversation with my relatives. They are in the business of gold mortgage. I was appraise that now I can buy gold or land if I desire, as many parents started selling their live long earning paddy land and their gold ring, gold earring, gold necklace which they saved for so many months and years. Some keep the parents' service book to a money lender. That means money salary of the parents goes to money lender as interest until the whole amount is return.

I ask why so much sales to my relative and to my surprise I came to know that this is the reason of recent Manipur Govt announcement of recruitment for police force and some para medical staff. This is our Manipur. Now it's the time that people are in que since morning 4 am in the front Gate of Medical Directorate home so that they can give token of LAKHS OF RUPEE for tea and fish for their daughter to get selected as Nurse, not only this you may see the wife of clerical staff in police dept wearing a ton of gold necklace and ear ring. The house of politician may be crowded with so many localite with handful cash, the superintendent incharge of the selection may be rich by few crores.

The recent announcement of Govt. of Manipur for the go ahead of selection of state police force and also for contact appointment of Nursing and paramedical staff for directorate of medical is really a discount season for the land buyer, gold lovers and is laxmi blessing for clerical staff ( working in concern dept), bureaucrats and politician. This a known fact and its an open door view to all Social organization, NGO, Student Union, Media who constantly sought and oraginized lots of strikes and bandh disturbing the working environment. My simple request is – are these social changer blind or speechless to find out why so much discounted sales. Why the media and social organization doing lots of hungama when recent police forces were caught for drug trafficking. Did they analyzed why the very reason.

Lets take a some snapshot - The salary of sub-inspector may be around Rs 20000 at the maximum at the time of induction and for constable around Rs 12000-15000 and for the nursing staff, if contract it will not more than Rs. 13000/- but still people pay to the tune of lakhs of Rupee for their employment.

Suppose if the bribing money for ASI is 15 lakhs, how many years one will take to get this 15 lakhs back by monthly salary or for nursing staff if she pay 15-20 lakhs. Some elite group of people will easily be having this money but not for everyone. So somehow for those who are not elite, they have to borrow this money from money lender, where the interest rate will be around 5 % /month. So if they have to repay the money borrowed , their salary is not enough even for interest rate to pay.

To recover all this money, obviously after joining his/her duty, the candidate will try any means to collect this money back by hook and crook. So all kinds of unwanted and unwarranted will groom. The outcome of this recruitment is plantation for future corruption. So many parents may borrowed with high interest rate from money lender, while some may have sold out their house, paddy, gold and what else I can imagine so as to bribe.

I was wonder at this point where our active media are are gone, where are our so call Social organization and where are our student organizations. There is no hidden that so many people are in que in the front gate of the concerned recruiting officer's house. Its open that people are bribing but no one stop. Corruption in Manipur is like cultural inherited. The bureaucrats and the politician feel this is their right. They feel it is their constitutional right to corrupt and common man thought that is their right. The public in Manipur too feel that Govt job can only be earn through bribing. This disease is spreading to every corner of the state and this is injected to every nerves of the citizen.

No social organization operating in the state never tried to find out the very reason why this person in Uniform is diluting his oath for non-corruption, non corporation in drug-trafficking. Have any organization-the so call social organization try to analyzed how much money this police official borrowed prior to join this Uniform. How can they recover with salary, until they do these unwanted evil things. Have anyone thought how his family will be running with the salary.

Here I am not supporting their act of drug trafficking, its only a view that sometime they may be compel to do all this for the very reason to finance back the money they took from money lender, they need to buy back the ancestral paddy land they have sold out for joining this Uniform. So social changer why don't they sit in protest against the corruption, why any recruitment is not notified well in time, why for any selection marks and particular of the candidate are hidden. So we the common man of Manipur should join together and work against this evil corrupt.

To this effect, I pray to each and every citizen of Manipur be free from this evil disease and to every organization-so call social changer please have look deeply and to all the media please sometime analysed the very reason and punish the corrupt. The change we want and the change we anticipate can only be achieved by us and not by others. If we need change, it's the time we change ourself.
