Ham handed policy
- Hueiyen Lanpao Editorial :: May 16 2015 -
A desperate government which left the issues to putrefy and aggravate eventually clamped an indefinite curfew.
We are in agreement with the NGOs which opined that it is not the solution.
These NGOs and not the established government have been making impassioned appeals to one and all not to tear to shreds the social fabric of peace and communal harmony.
The gruesome bludgeoning to death of two innocent workers was the handiwork of militants with criminal mindset and this should not upset the generations old communal harmony.
The government should have made such appeals to the people while maintaining law and order with a firm hand.
Had such effective steps been taken up the innocent person could have been saved and others would not have been injured.
Be it Pallel, Sehao or Thingshat-- the slothful and incompetent officials were caught napping.
Many headaches and some bloodsheds could have been saved had timely actions been taken up.
Now taking advantage of the spineless government the audacious KRF is saying that the 8 cadres whom the Home Minister described as the main accused are in fact innocent persons and demanded their release.
The government has failed to solve the problems in time and instead is using the sledge hammer to kill the fly.
The present problem at Patsoi and elsewhere could have been tackled with section 144 CrPC instead of helping indirectly the blockade and disruption of normal life.
