HIV training a 'must' for Manipur students
Seven Sisters Post | Yumnam Rupachandra, Imphal (Dec 1)
The AIDS awareness drive has scaled a new height in Manipur where the state AIDS policy has made HIV/AIDS training compulsory for any students appearing in High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) school examinations.
According to the new policy put up at the MACS website, students must undergo at least a two-day training to qualify to sit for the HSLC and class 12 examinations. The training must be conducted by MACS-certified resource persons. Manipur Governor Gurbachan Jagat, who also attended the function, expressed concern at the level of substance abuse like dendrite and even petrol for intoxication at the school level.
