Fusion rock music to spread AIDS awareness
Seven Sisters Post | Guwahati (Nov 9):
Tangkhul’s student union in Guwahati is undertaking an unique initiative to create awareness about HIV AIDS amongst northeast youths through fusion rock music. Bands like the Devine Connection from Nagaland and Black and Blue from Guwahati will spread the message through their music as the core strategy of the campaign was to educate the youths about HIV AIDS.
“We are involving these popular figures of the Northeast in this campaign as they are youth icons and the youth listen and learn by observing their role models. The message disbursed through their music is one of the best ways to enter the minds and hearts of the youth,” said Phungreiso Varu, one of the resource persons of the awareness campaign.
